Hello there!
I thought I'd introduce myself and tell you a little bit about my background. I'm a fully certified 200hr yoga teacher based in Surbiton.
Dynamic movement has always been a key component of my life. I seemed to spend my early years upside down, cartwheeling around and at a young age took up ballet and gymnastics; competing in Acro gymnastics Nationally. I finally hung up my leotard at the age of 16 and took up running, taking part in a few half marathons along the way.
Fast forward to my 30s and my love for everything water sports was born; forging friendships with 5 wonderful women we trained up and became the first all women team to stand up paddleboard the English Channel, from Dungeness to Boulogne-sur-Mer. These days I can be found enjoying tennis, wakeboarding and hiking.
My little constant and ally has always been yoga. I've always been drawn to the childlike aspect of it, playing around with flowing movements and shapes. The simplicity of unrolling my mat whenever and wherever has been such a joy and comfort. I've suffered, like many, with periods of high stress and crippling anxiety and found yoga to be a helping hand in those times.
I want to encourage women and men alike, any age, any stage of life to join me in my Vybe yoga classes. To spend even 45 minutes a week reaps huge benefits - whether you are looking to de-stress, correct posture and increase flexibility, build strength, unwind, have trouble relaxing or sleeping, these sessions cover a broad range of movement from the more dynamic to gentle, rested postures. There is something for everyone.
Drop me a note if you want to recharge and feel positively glowing.
Good Vybes,
Lizzie x
Depending on what you are looking for, I offer a group class at The Glass Room next to St Mark's Church on Maple Road, Surbiton
Alternatively I am mobile and can come to you for private or family sessions
I host 1:1 classes at my home too if you prefer.
In the summer time I also offer Fishponds park outdoor sessions.
Then you have come to the right place :) My classes are geared towards total newbies and beginners, to those looking to improve their practice.
I accept cash for classes and block bookings
Please bring good vibes, your own yoga mat, a water bottle and snug clothes for our rest and relaxation at the end of class.
My group classes are 45 minutes long
Private sessions are flexible depending on your needs.
I teach a combination of Vinyasa flow and Yin yoga - I feel this gives the body and mind the best balance between rest and movement.
Vinyasa is the flow of movement from one pose to the next guided by deliberate breath.
Yin yoga is held poses for 2-5 mins, focussing on gentle stretch and flexibility.
The beauty with my classes is that I tailor them for the students needs, so if you are a complete novice I will offer modifications and alternative movements. Everybody has to start somewhere!
My sessions are designed to give you a window in your week to focus on slowing down the mind, getting present and letting your body flow with each breath.
Key benefits: Anti-ageing, boasting mood & libido, mental clarity, calming the mind, increasing strength and flexibility, promoting a good nights sleep and relaxation.
